Noise Radiation Analysis by Acoustic Boundary Element Method

Summary

Noise reduction from copier and/or printer is a major product development issue. ESTECH project engineer applied acoustic boundary element method to analyze radiation noise from the instrument and predicted the radiation noise from an auto draft feeder (ADF), which can be used for design pre-validation.

The first step is to clarify the mechanism of noise radiation phenomenon by use of both test and operational modal analyses, and then coupling simulation is conducted by FE and BE models. As the result, the model makes it possible to simulate accurately the radiation noise up to several thousand Hz as well as to simulate and evaluate the effect of various noise reduction countermeasures in advance.

Additionally, good track record in MSC Actran application is available in the company.
