The phenomenon is categorized in the following two different phenomena. One is a brake shimmy caused by an imbalance of braking forces generated by uneven attrition of brake disk in most cases and the other is an unbalance shimmy caused by a rotational imbalance of a tire with a road wheel.
In both cases, natural frequency of suspension and vibrational transmission characteristics of power steering with strong nonlinearity greatly depend on the excitation force are important factors.
Recently, new factors of an electric power steering and hydraulic suspension bush to increase its damping characteristic have to be included in the simulation model, which make the simulation and the design more difficult.
