Small elastic deformation analysis in a rigid body motion
Challenge: Identification of elastic deformation in a structure which deforms as a rigid body mainly
If the deformation of a structure has to be simulated, in some cases, the difficulty is found to identify mainly an elastic deformation since rigid body modes are dominant under the condition without restriction.
Applying this post-processor eliminates contribution of rigid body motion from translational displacement component but doesn’t eliminate it from rotational displacement component.
How to resolve pains:
Applying ESTECH.rmRBM extracts elastic deformation solo from the whole structure deformation by subtracting rigid body motion describing by rigid body modes and the software is applicable together with MSC Nastran static and linear eigenvalue analyses as well as frequency response and transient response analyses.

Strength of the Software
- Application procedures are following two steps. First, designate the software, then define nodes which are used to obtain its rigid body motions.
- It is also available to eliminate rotational displacement of the rigid body motion which is unable to erase by general post process.
